airbag warning light
« on: 12 June 2013, 20:56:52 »

Any one Preston Lancs area who may be able to assist.
I have 3.0ltr Elite 2001 with an airbag warning light.
Been to dealers today and tech 2 gave following 'TC 93 and 95' followed by
'Occupancy pad req'.  This i believe translated to fault codes indicating passenger seat occupancy sensor fault.  Stated they checked wiring and okay so needs a seat rebuild and new pad - £700 plus.  Anyone know of someone who can experienced who can assist Preston area as not surprisingly i am reluctant to part with that much.  :-[
Any ideas or any one know garage that specializes in this sort of thing?

I doubt a 2001 reg 3.0 would have had an occupancy sensor in the passenger seat,so Im thinking that someone has fitted seats from a later car.If so the yellow plug at the side of the seat needs unplugging. If Im right this will cure the cause of the problem, but it may still need an appropriate code reader to turn the light off.
Welcome to OOF.

edit.Other less likely possibility is that someone has fitted an SRS ECU from a later car for some reason. If that was the case it would need swapping with the correct type. Either way it should be quite a cheap fix.
