F/S 2002 3.2 V6 saloon auto black
« on: 11 December 2009, 16:50:54 »

At the moment this isn't a detailed advert, so please bear with me until it's been throughly cleaned, polished etc.

DG02 RHE is a 3.2 V6 automatic saloon in black sapphire metallic. It is ex police, so it's not like an MV6 or Elite but has the same engine as fitted to those models. It's a 'special'. It does have a tow bar fitted, but has come straight from the Metropolitan Police, with no private owners. It has covered 81,871 miles. MOT expires 30/07/2010. No tax. Cambelt replaced on the 25/04/2008 at 71933 miles. I am going to replace interior items so there will be no holes etc, but I must say the interior is very good. I will upload more detailed higher resolution pictures once it has been cleaned and is ready.
I am not putting a price on it yet as it's just come in, but please feel free to pm me any offers you have. Once it's all been cleaned and prepared I will put a price on the final advert. But please ask any questions you may have  :y

Very true, it does annoy me when people say it's just like an Elite or an MV6, it isn't. It shares the same engine and running gear, but is an entirely different model.

;D I promise I haven't forgotten, I could get you a white 3.2 03 estate manual with 83k, but I don't think that was what you were after. I do hope to be getting a 3.2 Elite estate in January, but no details yet. But I will keep you updated  :y

Haha it is indeed a sneaky pic. In truth that was where it was parked anyway and wasn't staged...honest gov'nor.
I do like black one's, black and nocturno blue are the best colours on an Omega imo.

Not a problem... I wasn't really asking as I know you're hoping to have something suitable in the new year :y :y :y

Oh... And no. A manual won't do, especially in white ::) ::) ;D ;D

The official designation is 'special'. So it's not an MV6 special. Just called a 'special'. It is what Vauxhall refer to the vehicle as. It was only available to the police, with special equiptment. So they simply termed it that. However, some people call it an MV6 or an Elite, which it is not. It's a hybrid, with parts from all different models.
So yep, it's name is simply 'Vauxhall Omega Special'

Special bits are: bigger alternator to run all the police toys, heavy duty springs to cope with all the gear in the boot, also heard that they have different diff ratios to aid 0-60 but at the expense of top end speed.

Hi there, first post so here we go!

I'm currently looking for an Omega, around this age and mileage. Looking for a 3.0 or 3.2 MV6 or Elite. How much are you selling this for? I can't seem to find the price? Where are you located? You can send me an e-mail if you like.

Hello Richard,
This is an ex police Omega, so is not officially an MV6 or Elite. This one will go up at £1995 on autotrader, and less on here, probably around £250 less. An Elite with 190,000 miles was up at £1995. So this one does have less spec, but does have 100,000 plus miles less.
I'm located in Kidlington, which is 4 miles from Oxford city centre.
I am going to update the advert with more details and detailed photo's. However, the vehicle is currently under 5 or so inches of snow  ;D
Any questions please feel free to ask away.
And if you want to make me an offer, please feel free to PM me.

Hi - I'm new to this forum so bear with me !
My dad has an omega and says its one of the best cars he has ever had - but he doesnt seem to want to part with it at the moment (I've already told him I want it!!!) -so I'm looking around for one elsewhere....
Q:  if this is a 'special' only manufactured for the police - is it possible to insure it ???

This 'special' was only produced for the police. It can be pot luck with your insurance company whether they recognsie the vehicle registration number at first. Some insurers will recognise it straight away as a special, and some will class it as an MV6 or Elite and knock a bit off because it doesn't have the same spec. Give your insurer a ring and explain to them, hopefully they'd be able to insure it straight away  :y

All interior parts that I thought needed replacing have been done. So it's ready for sale. If I can get rid of it before Thursday the 14th (to make way for new stock) I'll knock a bit extra off the price. I will take some detailed photo's asap, but it's still under snow. If there's anything in particular you want a photo of please let me know. But as said, if you can pay and collect before the 14th I'll knock a bit extra off the price., or make me an offer  :y
