Petrol in my neck of the woods is 5p more than it is 30 miles around the M25 - it always is, has been for years. I'm told that a fuel tanker typically carries 30,000 litres. At 5p per litre extra following the trip, that's about £1,500 extra "for going".

I wonder if they pay this to the driver?

OK, a good chunk of it obviously goes to the government in taxes but, given that the fuel companies are fair minded and public spirited, can anybody think of any possible reason for this apparently easy money?

The price in Crewe and Nantwich has always been 3-5p more than Stoke-on-Trent barely 15 min drive away.

i suppose posher places have higher business rates and higher rent...meaning a need to charge slightly more for there wares

IMHO the greedy bu**ers will try and get away with charging as much as they can. Happens in the supermarkets as well.

It happens on ALL things, the ultimate aim of anybody selling anything with a business brain is to get the most cash for it that the market allows
