Don't know if this will work .... going back in time to the days of the Cortina .. used to check for head gasket problems by running engine with rad cap off and looking for bubbles ...might work on yours ??? should be easier to see with a clear(ish) header tank ... cortina's had no such finesse !!

The theory was, with no cap on the gas pressure in the cylinder will always be greater than the water pressure in the system, so leak would increase and be easier to spot ...

All the family sitting around the radio after sunday lunch to listen to "Around the Horn"   and at night hiding under the bedclothes trying to tune a crystal set into "Radio Luxembourg - the great 208 - the wing a ding station of the stars".. and the first thing you heard was the advert from Horace Batchelor .. part of which a present member seems to use in his signature .....  :) (unless I'm confusing sites ... I'm on too many these days)  :(

Its the same with every job..Without experience they dont want to know...How do you get experience...
catch 66... :y

You usually work for well less than the "going" rate, do all the sh****y jobs, but learn all the time. Then once you have proved your ability you get "promoted" to normal rates of pay ... used to be called "working your time in" or "working probation"

:)

The idea that you can just walk in to a skilled job on craftsmans wages after minimum training is symptomatic of many folks these days :(

Without trying to start an argument or be rude ...   look at it this way ....

If you were an employer, would you take on an unknown, untried, inexperienced person with barely minimum qualifications and pay him top rate and allow him to work unsupervised ??

NO!!

You would pay a lower wage as you would have to pay an experienced person to guide and mentor whilst the newbie learns .. so actually your costs would rise.

It's not rocket science .. it's common sense ...

check of maths reqd  :)  light from the sun takes a little over 8 minutes to reach the earth  :)

Aphelion (largest distance) = 152,500,000 m Perhelion (shortest distance ) = 147,500,000 m

Average distance of earth from sun = 150 million kilometres  150,000,000,000 m

Speed of light = 299,792,458 m/s

150,000,000,000/299,792,458 = 500.346 s

500.346/60 = 8.34 minutes or 8 mins 20 secs approx

.... I'll get me coat ...    ;D

Old chestnut .....  the flaw in this "logic" is in the question ... it works backwards from Friday to Monday and each step is based on the previous one. In reality life flows in the other direction .. from Monday to Friday so the arguments don't stand except for the first (which should be the last) .. if the exam has NOT occured by school closing on Thursday then it must occur on Friday, at this point it is no longer "unexpected"   but up until that point  it would be.

i used to work with a guy who drove a white cavalier, but his uncle fixed a bathroom radiator for a woman who gave birth to a little boy and the midwife who was present married a guy who's brother delivered milk to a woman who used to walk her dog over the back fields nearby and a path she took led down the side of a house directly opposite a school where the science teacher sold a dress on ebay to a girl who clearly needed the next size up, so she sold it to another woman who's husband went to a school reunion and met his old friend who was friends with a guy in a band who played a gig at a pub owned by a fella who's son cheated on his wife with another man and got caught and they had a fight and the police were involved, and one of the cops mentioned how they'd wrongly arrested someone who's cousin drove a silver x reg omega elite

i'll ask if it was him, gawd knows how long it'll take me to find out though!
