Yet another energy supplier has gone to the wall. This time it is Bulb. Well into administration that is, but who is going to take them on in that crisis hit industry?
So the estimated cost of these failures for the rest of us is going to climb from £100 for the year as the costs get passed on :( :(

They are brokers, not suppliers. ::)
They keep going out of business because their business models are based on unsustainable growth rates and low energy prices... ie not the current inflation driven climate (no pun intended).
Exactly the same reason as airlines such as Norwegian rarely survive if fuel cost rise and load factors/passenger revenues drop. Their profits are based on false assumptions.

To the consumer they are suppliers, as per their web site:

Good question Lizzie. My answer is the UK government ultimately. People can’t really manage without electric.
Soaring energy prices aren’t unique to Britain. Here in Spain the farmers are “striking” over 270% increase in electric without produce going up a commensurate price.

Extra jumper and raw food. ;)

The taxpayer will be on the hook for this one, until it can be offloaded.
The government has to take some of the blame for this, or the energy regulator anyway. Imagine Tesco having to pay £1 for a loaf of bread and only being able to sell it for 90p.

Only the other day an energy observer estimated, as I said, an extra £100 per year on all our bills no matter what energy supplier we are with.
The government hold our money and costs, so will have to pass the cost of the collapsed suppliers to us.
As for the loaf of bread; I think it may be more like £0.90 selling price, but the cost is more like £1.80, especially with the gas element of the industry!! :o :o :o :'( :'(

I think you are very right Varche on that one. Perhaps nationalisation will eventually raise its head.
After all we, the public, will end up owning the energy industry the way it is going!! ::) ;D ;)

So you produced plenty of gas then? ??? ;D
You should sell it back to the grid and apply for a 'feed in tariff'! :D

Actually no , usually yes but tried a recommended one in Bourne Lincs, had a Vindaloo as well + onion bhajis & a Bombay potato it was all excellent perhaps it was the 4 bottles of Cobra that helped.👍

Does anyone remember only a short while ago that 'experts', including Martin Bloody Lewis, were telling us that it pays to switch supplier every year. Glad i was in couldn't be arsed mode to save a few quid. I signed a new deal just a few months ago. Phew.

Wish I'd been in that mode Ronny. EON offered me a 2 year fix, but I decided to switch to a company that promptly went bust! ::)
