No , but I had some wet dreams over them in my youth 🤭 2.3 twin strombergs! What more was there to want😎

A bin to put them in?? Strombergs are horrible things, and a pair is more than twice as bad.

Having had them on Avengers, and then having to suffer Vauxhalls crime against Cars by fitting a pair to the Chevette HS*, I couldnt agree more.
Useless, hideous contraptions.  :y
Replacing these with a apir of 48 Dellortos and swapping the Bedford CF cast iron exhaust manifold for a tubular steel one upped the power from 135 to 180bhp and transformed the car.
*Vauxhall were far too tight to do this to their flagship sporty hatch, but would charge almost £1000 on top of the £6100 you had already paid for the car to supply them.
These were pretty big figures in 78 / 79.

Strombergs are trying to be a HIF type SU carb. And failing.

Yet I always found the Strombergs remained in adjustment far better than SUs  :-\

Shows how poor the SUs were !

SUs were great until the piston and barrel got worn or dirty and both types were all over the place once the needle and jet had started to wear. Why you'd bother with either in 2021 boggles my mind. If you need it to look original take all the gubbins out, use it as a throttle body and fit some fuel Injectors under the manifold where you can't see them. :y

I've never seen a factory linkage for multiple SUs that was any good. As long as the throttle spindle bushes aren't worn, the carbs are excellent. Single ones are fit and forget, especially the later HIF. Strombergs are better than Ford's VV carbs, but that's a very low bar.
