Yes, time to move on. Except for Sir Queer Starmer, he has to carry stuff like this on forever, to disguise the fact that his party has no actual policies, apart from sticking up for tiny minorities.

The image of  appeaser Starmer and the ginger growler taking the knee for BLM didn't sit well with me, and I will not vote for him regardless of how utterly shite Bojo is most of the time. :-\

There are now far bigger things to keep Boris busy, such as stopping Putin, with all the other strong members of NATO, from creating further conflict in Eastern Europe.

We are also facing a crisis with living costs that Boris MUST get to grips with.

Partygate was just an aberration that history will almost forget. ;)

Boris. Am I the only person who sees Boris flit from one disaster to another but come out smelling of roses,  just about.?

To the long list you could add Northern Ireland and Gibraltar.

What next , no potatoes or bread?

You're being melodramatic again. Bread is produced regionally.

No your not. He has done it his whole life. He is no more than a chancer. He has got away with it so far, but it will bite him on the arse at some point.
He should have been forced to resign over the lies he told the Commons and the country. The only reason he got away with it is it seems there is no-one to replace him with.
The shambles he has created in Norn Irn is one of the most incompetent and dishonest political acts I have ever seen.
That should also have finished him, and in any previous Govt. it would have done.

It has all been said before, that Boris is a bumbling buffoon who is typical of the public school system.

Even Churchill had big flaws, and made big mistakes, but like him we just pray that Boris comes good, continues to show good leadership in the issues of Ukraine, and straightens the mess that is Northern Ireland borders.

Let’s face it, who else is there? Who can be strong enough with the people around him to face down what is an international crisis of some magnitude, with the risk of a far bigger war, rationing, and bankrupt countries, including our U.K.?

Heaven help us, eh?! :o ::)

True enough, but it is difficult to see what else he could have done given the events in 2019 with that rotten parliament and the Benn Surrender Act that tied his hands behind his back.  ::)

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the meeting at a country house in Cheshire that Boris Johnson had with Leo Varadkar where the NIP was agreed. Johnson went in saying there might have to be checks on the UK/RoI border and came out saying they'd done a fantastic deal to put a border down the Irish Sea. I wonder what messages Varadkar carried from the IRA?  ???  :-\  :-X

And less than a year before he told the DUP conference in Belfast that he (nor any UK PM) could ever even consider putting a border down the Irish sea.
He should have held his nerve and threatened to walk away without a deal. Then just let the clock run down and wait for a phone call.
The whole issue was and is a red herring. On the one hand the amount of illegal trade across the border is miniscule in the grand scheme of things and not worth worrying about.
On the other hand the border is porous as a sponge. Always has been and always will be, and no-one will ever stop it.
A small number of people living either side of it will always get rich from smuggling across it.

I think one of the worst things for the paramilitaries in NI was the peace process. They had to think of other ways to hide their criminality.

The Benn Surrender Act made No Deal illegal and the EU knew that, so Johnsons options were very limited.  :(

Lord Frost said the other day that that Barnier and his team's attitude changed after the Benn Surrender Act was passed, as they knew they had us over a barrel.  >:(

Not really tbh. They carry out their money making criminality and the authorities turn a blind eye on the condition they dont blow shit up or randomly murder people.

To late for Sue Gray to look into this one, but it will give Starmer another excuse to call for his resignation.

The people whose nearest and dearest died alone and terrified because families were banned (by Boris) from spending their final hours with them, for starters.

If a brief comment I heard on BBC news in the early hours of yesterday morning[that Starmer may or may not yet receive a fine for breaking those self same rules]is correct why has nothing been made of this before or since? if it is incorrect why has it not been refuted?

Have you been hiding under a rock? It was all over the news about a week ago. Starmer (and Angela Reyner) is/are being investigated by (IIRC) Northumbria police (the same lot that never fined Cummings). Both have said they will resign as party leaders if they are issued with a fine. That allows them to keep the pressure up on Boris to resign since he has been fined.

Yes, and all I can do is repeat my post #7.

Far, far bigger things to worry about than a few drinks on the side that no doubt took place all over the land.  Boris made mistakes - so what, that is far from hot news now!  ::) :D :D

Even if that had not happened, the "loved ones" who lost relatives and could not attend their hospital beds or their subsequent funerals, would still not have been able to do so anyway, for their own protection.  It is done, they are dead, it is over, but war, energy prices, food shortages, higher living costs are THE issue on the minds of most people. :P ;)

I certainly dont. He is a fickin moron.
As Ive said before. His only saving grace is that there is no obvious replacement in any party at the moment.
Its a Parliament of pygmies.

Boris is a tit to have got himself in this situation in the first place, but do I think he 'was partying on an industrial scale'? No.  ::)

Did he lie to Parliament? No I don't believe so, not deliberately anyway. I wouldn't have considered a quick drink with people that I'd been working with at the end of a stressful day in an unprecedented national emergency as a 'party'.  :-\

I will however laugh my moobs off if Sir Starmer and the Ginger Growler get fined by Durham's finest and resign, but Boris sails on through the stormy seas and survives!  ;D

The leftie hysterical outrage will be quite something!  :o  :)

The leaks coming from number 10 staffers today suggest that it was party central with him in the thick of it.
Karaoke parties into the we small hours in the middle of lockdown for example.
We have a PM with no personal integrity whatsoever, and more than that, he doesnt care.
How you can think he didnt lie to Parliament is beyond me tbh.

Wouldnt watch BBC shite. I have formed my own opinion of him and am saddened that it coincides with the lefties who hate the Tories, but its his doing.
In the not too distant past he would have been long gone, but he has brought British politics to a new low.

Watched his press conference. It was stomach churning. He has no sense of propriety, no shame, doesnt give a flying fick.
Tells more and more lies with that stupid smirk on his face.
Apparently the work meetings that werent parties involved being so pissed they threw up on the carpets, sloshed wine up the walls and in one case ended up scrapping.
When the cleaners and security tried to complain they got the "do you know who we are ?" type attitude.
One of these was the nights before Prince Phillips funeral.
The next day The Queen showed the nation what leadership really is as she dutifully sat alone and no doubt desolate at the funeral of the man she married decades before any of these entitled spoilt t wats were born.
Boris only saving grace was when SKY,s Beth Rigby (who is known to detest him) gave him a mauling, and he remined her that she had been allowed to come back to her job after being caught partying during lockdown.
She didnt attempt to say another word after that.
I hope enough Tory MP,s have a sense of decency and put their letters in to trigger a vote of confidence. I wont hold my breath though.  :(

He's meeting the 1922 committee right now, I think. If he promises them what they want (nothing to do with partygate), they may back him. Selling his soul again.

I keep hearing that he should resign, not because of the parties, but because he lied. He's a politician FFS, he lies for a living.

Not so brazen, and to the extent he does though. He knows we know and he doesnt give a toss. That irks me. He (like the others who carried on partying) thinks he is on a different level to the likes of us, so will just give some bullshit half excuses in front of the cameras, and stick two fingers up to us once they have gone.
If there were a single big beast Tory leader in waiting, on the sidelines, Boris would be gone by the morning.
Its a Parliament of political pygmies though, so that will probably save him.  :(

Thank god that Rishi and Boris have decided to help us poor pensioners with the cost of living. I'll let Boris off now.
I'm guessing that's the idea  ;D

Yep the Labour Party are now the Tories economic and fiscal advisors.  :)

Meanwhile, today BP announced a review into it's investments in the UK.  ::)

“Today’s announcement is not for a one-off tax -– it is a multiyear proposal,” BP said in an emailed statement. “We will now need to look at the impact of both the new levy and the tax relief on our North Sea investment plans.”  From a Bloomberg article.

I suspect he practices with Carrie every night when he gets home. The Queen will be a doddle.

Today he has changed the Ministerial code, so that ministers who break it no longer have to resign.
He demeans his office and the country with each passing day.  :(
