Which H1 bulb?
« on: 18 October 2023, 17:27:24 »

Last week, my H1 bulb gave out. For a temporary urgent fix, I got the AA to pop round and put a standard H1 bulb in.

The minor issue I have now is that since I replaced the bulbs a few years ago with extra-brightness ones (but can't remember which brand) the old near-side light is now much brighter than the new off-side light.

I fancy replacing both bulbs (so they match). I am torn between the H1 OSRAM Night Breaker Laser 150% Next Generation 12v 55w and the H1 Philips X-tremeVision Pro150 12V 55W Halogen Bulb.

Anyone have either fitted?

I just remember clearly the AA man saying "that's an H1. I've got one in the van." It certainly made the dipped beam work again.

There's a label on top of the light unit that tells you exactly what bulbs it takes.

I have OSRAM Night Breaker as high beam bulbs, put them into try and am quite impressed with them.

I also have a set to put in for the dipped beam, just never got round to it.  Funnily enough I came accross the dips last week during a sort out, I think I found some higher brightness Philips bulbs as well.
