Hello everyone,

My miggies battery is completely flat and needs to be replaced (no central locking /warning lights etc) the car is manually locked with the key.

When I remove the battery is the alarm going to go off??

It's not been used for 5/6 months

It might do...I always open the bonnet and loosen the 0V battery terminal then turn the igniton on and off then whip the loosened terminal off....there should be enough juice in the battery to give the power sounder the hint that the battery is going to be disconnected....

If yours is fitted with a power sounder.....then as Mark says or doesnt   you've got 15 secs from ign on then off to get the battery disconnected to stop the alarm.

Tho if the battery is that flat that you get no ign lights.....and seeing as it hasnt been used for 5 months...i think you can safely say battery is a dead as a dodo.....and if power sounder fitted it wont notice battery being disconnected.

Tho you could measure the battery voltage before disconnecting it.....If you 0v or round abouts which i think you might.....just disconnect it

If you have access to Trade Club the Vauxhall Go batteries are very good and excellent value. £32 + VAT for an Omega battery, 3 year guarantee, calcium, with charge indicator.

On the other side Halfords batteries tend to get rather bad reviews.
