Mr Skrunts:
The fun begins

I had seperate smart meters fitted a while back, since then they have stopped communicateing.  3 times they have made appontments to change them, all appointments cancelled due to the fact I was billed seperately and not duel fuel billing.

To correct this I arranged to change to duel fuel billing, it was explained this could only be completed if the meters were read and the bills brought up to date.

So 1st May payment sent of £175.00 for electric.
9th May meters read
9th Elec in credit by       £ 92.72
       Gas in credit           £ 66.00
9th.  Combined balance  £333.72  :y
Added          £16.28 =   £350.00  :y

Electric smart meter fitted on 12th.  issue fitting Gas so still waiting to complete.

Credit balance of £350.00 12th AM, close of day was £500.32 in ARREARS.

Been billed again on 29th and am now £631.27 in ARREARS. (without any meter readings posted by EON.

I Think thier computer is having a hissy fit.  :-\ :-\

Bearing in mind I was in credit for both accounts this is just Mondays new accounts.

Previous billing changes daily. Above is only a sample of the billing, loads of deductions and credits on a daily basis (Multiple times?.  The  credit balance on the 9th & 12th had changed at least 4 times since those dates. :-X

The Saga continues. ::)

Sir Tigger KC:
Smart meters are the work of the devil and are best avoided!  :-X

Rangie:
Anything labelled "smart" is usually the exact opposite in my experience and definitely best avoided.

Doctor Gollum:
Daily manual readings from the consumer units over the course of a week every quarter is usually enough to keep the supplier honest.

Our summary display was completely different to the actual usage, and Shell eventually wound it's neck in remotely. If you're on a fixed tariff, and your consumption doesn't vary much then the weekly totals shouldn't vary much either. So you can soon tell if the meter summary is taking the piss or not  ;)

YZ250:
I receive an email from Eon each month requesting the meter reading. I just type in the reading, hit submit and job done. Obviously it means that I have to get out of my chair to make a note of the reading but it’s a small sacrifice just once a month.
Smart electric meter doesn’t work in my house, they’ve tried and failed.  :)
