Hello!
« on: 05 October 2008, 17:58:21 »

Hi, new to the omega, well actually just bought one to break and keep the 3.0 engine for my vectra which ive now ended up seling. The more i look at the omega the more im considering keeping it!

Only thing is i`m not a fan of auto`s, is it just a matter of a flywheel/gearbox, prop and pedal box to convert over to manual?

And does anyone have a couple of doors and a rear quarter panel!! Car has 11months mot but is a cat d right off. Should i rebuild and manualise or put her out of her misery?!!

keep it and enjoy the rear wheel drive.like many on here I love my auto and most people seem to agree once they get used to them.If you are determined to change to a manual,im pretty sure there is a "how to" in the maintenance section.
you may well find bits you need in the for sale section. there are usually a few people breaking cars in there.

Thanks thought it would be fairly straightforward to make her manual, rwd is great fun, ive got a sierra sapphire thats got a granada cosworth 2.9 engine in it, thats not finished yet though and its not a particularly uncommon conversion, and i do like to be different. Are there many tuned omegas on here? anyone ventured into jenvey throttle bodies? Seems like a nice friendly forum this, thanks for the warm welcome  :)

Just had a good look at the beast and she definetly only needs the two doors a mirror and a quarter panel, the inner wheel arch section has just been pushed in a bit, its not as major as it first looked. getting really tempted to fix her, then maybe do a manual conversion later on(have a fully stocked workshop as i`m a HGV mechanic), see how i get on with the auto. also checked insurance and its fine(only 23)
