idle arm bright ring

while checking the lamba sensor on exhaust I noticed that the top of the idle arm  looked as if it had a bright polished ring around the "dome" at the top - is this significant? :-[

Looking at Marko2002 picture on his thread the part of the  idle arm  with the bright ring about it that which is  is just to the right of of the cat
