I watched that a while back
I had 4 Carlton saloons ,great cars   8)
I stuck with 4 pots with mods  :-X and avoided the "boat anchor" engines
I remember someone stuck an Omega V6 in an estate carlton
I have fond memories of the 'totalcarlton.com' (now defunct) days  :)

Good looking cars the Carlton's, I always fancied a Senator I  liked the "aggressive" look of the front end.

Same story for my 24v Sennie. Lovely car in every respect, but it got eaten alive around the rear end until it had to be scrapped.  :(

You boyz with your rose tinted glasses ;D

That said, I always wanted a 24v Senator when they came out, but had to settle for an Astra GTE instead.

i remember looking at the brochures and seeing the carlton 2200 cdi in carnelian red thinking it looked a fine machine . 1994 and that dream was realised and the car didnt dissapoint . very comfy ride with more than enough power . still have it to this day . not bad on the rust side either with it seeming to bear better than the model that followed it . strut tops were a rust trap that killed a few ( mine were replaced with 2mm galv shortly after i bought it and whilst the area was still very good and still perfect now )
the mk3 carlton however was always bad on front chassis leg tops but otherwise nothing too bad elsewhere .( similar to omegas )
nothing that would scrap a car if you did your own repairs( maybee so if you sent it to a garage !)

I valated one of the last 24v's every week and allways wantead one, I treat myself to  new Astra GTE 1/8/84 loved it at 1st, till all the faults started (2xA4 Pages) wiring loom caught fire as I started the car after filling with fuel, just turned the key, car was replaced with in a week for a Nissan.

Have you still got it with the standard HT10 on it? If so I can upgrade it with bored compressor housing and a nice big juicy billet wheel with extended tip >:D that will get it up on its hind legs for you🐎🐎🤣🤣🤣🤣

They were all painted red and black from the factory, but mine had been resprayed blue at some point.

Back then frame and tyre technology was pretty basic so it didn't like the corners but went like shit off a shovel on full boost. >:D

By the standard of 2024 it would not be considered quick with only 112 BHP.....but because it wobbled, weaved  and bucked like a rodeo bull it felt quick.

B at the start of the plate was 1984.
