.........
I would suggest your efforts are futile. In fact, I think your posts just make certain people more likely to continue or, even, raise their game.

It's certainly opened my eyes... in the wrong manner. The Police have been criticised for job application refusals based on strong gender beliefs, even though the person applying suited all other criteria. The person applying is actually a serving Police Officer with strong gender beliefs but did it as a test. It transpires that there are many serving Police Officers with strong gender beliefs. Also, Political Correctness gone mad when Hertfordshire Police allegedly left a vital point out when searching for a male attacker. The male attacker was wearing a dress.... but the Police were allegedly nervous of issuing that piece of information in case it upset the trans people amongst us. How crazy is that. Trans campaigner Debbie Hayton said in a statement regarding the gender belief, 'the police are there to uphold the law, not to decide which views are acceptable and which views are not.'
Things are being changed to accommodate a small percentage of people. How did Nick W describe them, oh yes, statistically insignificant.
It would appear that more support Opti's view than you believe Lizzy, even within the Police.

Anyway, this is the Dead Person thread.  :-\
You've only just realised this? Where have you been hiding?  ;D

I lead a sheltered life, I've just ignored their existence until Lizzie kept on about them.  ;D
I read a piece last week about a large financial institution based in London. When interviewing for management positions, the panel had to seek permission from above before appointing a white male to the job. They had to show why this candidate was more suitable than any female, person of colour or both that had attended for interview.

I think I just about stopped short of hurling my iPad through the window, but did give the dog a sly kick.

Winter the bottlenose dolphin — the inspirational subject and star of the 2011 film "Dolphin Tale" with Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd, Kris Kristofferson and Morgan Freeman, which chronicled her recovery as she was fitted with a prosthetic tail after hers was amputated when it became tangled in a crab trap rope — died at her home at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater, Florida, on Nov. 11, surrounded by her caregivers.

LZ I would suggest that you and the Good Lord spend a few days visiting the Yumbo Centre together and people watch.

What you will see is several very different groups occupying the same space and interacting with each other in exactly the same way as more traditional people... Some open acceptance and some open sneering. And absolutely everything in between.

You could both learn a lot, but I suspect that the GL will be less surprised :-X

Yes DG, I know you are right again :y :y

It is just that I want to stop the ignorance and stupidity of those who keep attacking what are very vulnerable people, via posts on here or by any other medium. I could just ignore them myself, but what some find as simply a bit of banter can cause real life or death situations, that I witness and advise on, amongst other issues, with Kent Police, and now Thames Valley Police, that could be avoided by a more tolerant and understanding society.  I must do my bit to help that process.

I will now try and stay silent………until the next time! :-X :-X :-X ;D

On the other hand, I don't see how anything posted on this particular forum could possibly harm anyone. Except, maybe, yourself.

I agree Steve, no matter what I, or anyone else says, the racists. homophobic, transphobic, the ignorant and stupid will always walk amongst us. ::) ::)

As for hurting people;  yes words stated publicly, and as we all have recognised, on social media like the OOF, can severely harm individuals at their weakest point, when they are most vulnerable.  I have seen the results of that, know of the suicides, and attempts to end life.  That should make all of us sit up and take notice of the harm we can do with words, but the way the World is, and has always been, I am not holding my breath.  Just trying in my own small way to assist and advise. :)

You missed, or ignored, my point... Your perspective is somewhat narrowed in the broader scheme of things.

That's to say the entire focus is based on a handful of minority individuals with very specific issues, whereas the law and services should be be reflective of society as a whole.

All the measures currently presented are an affront to the values that those systems are based on. You can be mindful of the needs of the smallest minority whilst portraying a solid, stable image upholding law and order. ie the traditional 'Bobby'. Consider that most interactions with the Police stem from negative situations rather than the interactions themselves being negative. This is something that has been greatly eroded by forced divisity.

No DG, I took your point and expanded it.

The "handful" of people you talk about in fact are 10's of thousands across the "minority" of people.

Just as the Jews were a minority in Germany during the 1930's, these groups matter.  If we cannot protect them with the cover of law and order, then in due course it will overwhelm us all in the evil of white, nationalism, all conformist, supremacy, that has overcome other societies.  Always remember that famous :
First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me.

That is why we must always protect the so called minorities in our Democracy, otherwise that precious thing, gained by much sacrifice and pain, can be quickly lost as we think only the majority should be given protection, as it was first in Nazi Germany, and even them eventually lost their status to be reduced to nothing.

That is why I will argue for the weak, and the defenseless, as Jesus taught us to do.  Even if people does not believe in any type of faith, it does not matter as the message is still the right way to be. ;)

I know I will always be a target for those that object, but hey ho, I have spent most of my life fighting for what I believed was just, right and proper.  So I am prepared for the flak!! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;)

Wilber Smith prolific author of international bestsellers such as The Lion Feeds, Men Of Men and River God, died recently at his home in Cape Town.

I think I've read most of his books over the years and they are proper page turners!  :y
