Title: 2.2 DTi ESTATE 2001-Y FSH MINT CDX
Post by: Simon_Omega on 29 July 2009, 10:40:29
I have for sale a 2001 CDX Estate, in near mint condition with full history and its the 2.2 DTi diesel with all those extra miles per gallon than the petrol models.
Took it on a 250 mile round trip lastnight, very impressed having never had one in before.
Good clean condition inside and out.
book is 2500
i have 1995 it on ebay but will gladly deal for oofers.

note.    temp sensor on guage barely moved during trip, and airbag light is on,   will get my pal at vaux to tec 2 it and see what can do - should be able to sort it.

mot is feb/march 2010 and the tax this month, however will include tax at asking price for 6 months more.

Looks good, being a diesel and estate is definitely sought after. A 2.2 DTI sold for £1500 with something stupid like 350,000 miles on it, so yours is certainly priced well. Although, you state it's a CDX, but it looks like a CD to me as it deosn't have Xenon's, sunroof or the CDX alloys.

cdx on the log book and on the vehicle database for the UK.
no xenons tho.

Its 119k.

There are only 3 of these available in the uk on autotrader, one has got 150k and they want £2500 or so.

another one is 48k and up for £4995.

any serious interest in this should get in soon and get a deposit in as got 2 people want to come on sat. i would rather an OOF owned it.

Its been registered wrong then, thats a CD spec. Its sitting on CD alloys and CDX had xenons as standard.

Lets be honest, for less than 2k for a what looks like a tidy diesel estate, with decent mileage and full history whether its a cd or cdx is pretty much irelevant at that price. Good luck with sale..

Thank you, refreshing outlook on someones advert  :y

I give up with this site, every time theres legalities and people being nit picky.
Its for sale for £2k, its mint, has NO FAULTS (airbag light been fixed and temp sensor) and will sell to first person.

These days no point in judging by the model as some cdx are better kitted than elites as i have one and most omegas around have had other upgrades from other omega models like seats/alloys etc
but have seen lots of members from this forum posting needless s++t on simons and others, why don't you keep it to yourself.
This forum is crazy, another great loss!!!
Well done on your sale simon  :y

It's a CD so why not advertise it as a CD with options added, not a CDX with options taken off.

Exactly a CDX with those added options not an elite with a few bits taken off!

He probably isn't trying to make a living selling cars.

The main reason I joined this forum is because I may need to replace my current car soon. A low cost eight year old car might be just what I need in a couple of months time & I really couldn't care less if it left the factory as a cd or a cdx so long as it met my needs.

No but he brakes a lot of them. Everyone he breaks he advertises it as what it is.

I very politely asked for clarification of if it was a CD or CDX. I stated it was well priced and looked good so by all means was not rubbishing the ad, but queried the fact that it was advertised as a CDX but didn't have any of the spec associated with that model. I.e no xenon's, sunroof and wrong wheels, different radio, no fold flat of front seat and so on. That's a big difference in spec, not being picky.

Trading Standards would not call it picky, just illegal! It seems an honest mistake, that should have been rectified, not argued agaist. Throwing your toys out the pram due to your own mistake!! Yes its a loss to not have Simon here, but he may well calm dow and come back, at least he got what he wanted, a sold car at the full asking price ;)

Mmm, not sure, no mention of it being sold either on his Autotrader ad or his Ebay listing :-/

Edit: or on his wbsite

As in 'shit' you mean pointing out you are incorrecting listing a car for sale? There is a large difference in spec between CD/CDX, and i can see on the photos it only had 2 letters on the side of the door!

Picture this: If i saw a Jaguar XJR advertised, but when i went to see it it was a normal XJ, i would be very disappointed :(

I think when you put a car for sale on a specialist car website, it is important to have the spec correct as the majority of readers will know the differences between them.  It won't matter so much when the car is advertised elsewhere.

Agree.

And it sounds like hes just spat his dummy out over the matter.

Simon used this site to sell cars, and he received comment from a keen Omega membership on what he was selling.  If he doesn't like such honest, democratic, and specialist opinion, well tough!! He shouldn't have used this site purely for selling cars! >:( >:(  End of.

Don't know the guy or what he's sold in the past but surely, a PM in his shell like would be a better bet?
Keeps the dirty laundry away from the general public - which is exactly why PM's were invented?
If the point wasn't taken then fine, flame him publically - but as I see it, there's a lot of petty, small minded comments (some might say spam) in many a thread on here and I wonder if someone about to join, or even join and not posted or a bit shy etc could be put off by this?

The recent slagging match and finger pointing "You're a racist" thread is a classic case of things getting out of hand on OOF!

As much as it entertaining, it's bound to put some folk off.

**Waits for public slagging off**
