My wifes rear wiper on her estate, does this. When I was looking for a repair I found the following site. Might be of some relevance to someone?  I know it doesn't mention Omega, but they must be nearly the same inside. http://www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co.uk/index.php?threads/astra-how2-to-fix-astra-vectra-zafira-wiper-motor-parking-fault.166111/

Hi Swordfish, can you tell us what it was causing the problem, and how you fixed it.

Might give me something I haven't looked at.

Thanks

If you mean the front screen wipers, it's usually as I linked to, caused by wipers being switched on while they're still frozen to the screen.
