Title: Space saver tyre
Post by: pauls on 21 October 2018, 16:55:26
Could somebody please advise.
I have 235/45/19 on the front and 255/40/19 on the back. I noticed that the space saver is t135/90/17. If i had a flat either on the front or back could i use this space saver without causing any damage to transfer boxs or diffs. Car is a bmw x3.
I have looked on a couple of different sites and the tyre radius is ok but iam more worried about any damaged to could cause.

As long as the rolling radius is the same, you'll be fine  :y

Obviously it won't drive as well and check the manual/dealer to confirm that it's suitable for either end... Suspect it's rear only for stability reasons  :-\

if the spare's radius is the same as those on the car & is the spare originally supplied, I can't see a problem ... after all, the spare is only intended as a temporary/get you home wheel.  :y
