I've already posted about my lad getting a covid test on Boxing Day, today I 'upgraded' my BT internet package to one with discs and an EE dongle and the appointments shown for a visit from a super duper tech wizard included Boxing Day. :o

I can remember years ago.....Christmas day was obviously huge chrimbo meal, prezzies, watching the Queens speech in front of a log fire, then watching a film on tv and then chrimbo evening supper and more tv. Boxing day similar minus the prezzies. :y
Now, it seems to me, Christmas day similar, but boxing day is now a rush to the sales! (not that the prices will be any cheaper!). A lot of chain shops bring out the crap that some of the other stores couldnt sell!! ::)
-
Boxing day was always a walk into the village to see the Hunt, then onto the pub with all the aunts, uncles, and cousins for much beer

Ahhh...yes...id forgotten about that!! It was a drive in the car to watch the boxing day hunt!

We decided to give up on Chrismas, Kids in the family had grown up, Mum & Dad are no longer with us so Chrimbo was never the same.
TV gets better for a few days. :y
Boxing day the country goes berserk for the sales, cant be a**d with them either (most of it is online throughout december anyway)
Look forward to New Years Eve, Party for 2, lots of wine, nice food and the rest left to your imagination Opti ::)

TV gets better? Not looked, but suspect it will be some crap Pixar film in the morning, and knobcockers/drearystreet all evening.
Is the queen doing a speech this year?
-
The sales have been a thing for as long as I can recall. You either chose/choose to partake or not. I generally choose not.
Christmas Day is my first day off, but would personally prefer to be working...

Yes. It will include the new lockdown restrictions as a ploy from Boris to shift the blame on a woman who is likely to die soon.
He's already written the script, and an early leak suggests that "Everybody must now finish their mince pies and sod orff home immediately" is part of it. ;D

I'll already be at home, laying on the sofa breaking wind, after stuffing myself senseless on a proper Christmas lunch.
Doubt I'll go for a pre lunch pint, mostly because my local is shite. Plus I think I'm still barred. I certainly won't go for a post lunch drink, as I'll be fast asleep watching the Great Escape or whatever the afternoon film is this year.

Did you spell that right ? :y

Boxing day is a day spent with family for us, lazy morning with whatever we fancy for breakfast then a walk with the dog up by the river. Certainly would not consider going anywhere near shops, feel sorry for the staff having to work but I've worked plenty of Christmases over the years before retirement.
