Brill ! - Them mk2 escorts are fun (used to have 1 , an rs2000) , but very raw too.

If only an omega could be that chuckable!

 ;)

In the correct hands, they are but they do need the suspension stiffening a tad to ensure it all stays shipshape (it is a luxobarge, after all!!)  ;)

he did brilliant to swap the shell so quickly, close to the end of the vid! I didnt even see it fly off in the background!

I'd love a MK2 escort, My dad had loads when i was younger but i hated them then, because he drove like it wasnt capable of more than 25mph!!

he had a black one with the full rally kit but i dont think it was an RS, he only paid £80 for it

Late 70s early 80s had some great cars and some appalling cars.

The Mk2 Escort is the only Escort

Well balanced RWD cars of this type make it easier to control, you can place a car like that better than any front driver or large rear driver.

Any half decent driver could drive like a hero in a car like that - but not as fast!

He is a good driver but cars like the Mk2 Escort help immensly.

Just put it this way on a particular piece of road I took my Rootes equivalent in hatch form at xmph on loose chippings, in any Omega or Carlton I kust about managed X in the dry, that said at x+10 mph I saw a car nearly lose it with a wheel in the air.

There is something fantastic about powerful light short RWD cars with heavy duty suspension, and they are great to watch.

Just wish I was as good and could be so happy running so close to the limit

Drum front brakes, no RS2000, apart from that not bad
