Omega General Help / Oil leak from throttle body 2.2 petrol
« on: 03 December 2022, 21:54:53 »
I have oil on the inlet manifold and believe it is from where the throttle body joins the inlet manifold, but why would there be oil there? I have checked and cleaned the breather pipes and they were unobstructed. Any ideas

Well it’s been over a week and the 92degree stat seems to have done the trick, car a bit perkier and mpg seems to have improved slightly, I changed both temp sensors which was fun and gauge seems to move more. Thanks for the help

A pleasant update, fitted a new QH thermostat 92degrees, current one (vernet) was 82! Car runs much warmer and happier! Gauge goes to 80 much faster , should needle point to 80 or the middle which would be 90?

Well I went out and had a play, I let it idle for ten mins, heater got hot and the thin small hose warmed quickly, top hose started to warm after about 8 mins but not only half the temp of the thin hose,  temp needle not moved at all, I’m leaning towards it being a temp sender problem, if that doesn’t work I will change the thermostat for one not from euro car parts.

Firstly the car runs great after I rebuilt the cylinder head during the summer, I changed the thermostat as well and there are no leaks, but the gauge hardly rises unless I have been driving for ages then it sits nicely in the middle. Is it just the sender being tired and sending inaccurate info? Or could it be the wrong thermostat as the one I fitted was the same as was in there but wrong according to euro car parts ( different fittings) I have ordered both temperature sensors and plan to change them when I get a chance, do you think it will make a difference? Would be nice is the needle went up to the middle and stayed there

what type of fitting is it in the back of the radio for the aerial? I might try an aftermarket internal antenna

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / radio reception, forgive me

I have read past posts but not sure what the best definite solution is, my 2002 saloon has rubbish reception when the heated window is on but its not brilliant normally, my car is a saloon with the bee sting aerial, if the aerial is in the HRW what does the bee sting do as I have no phone fitted or sat nav?, i understand there is a signal amplifier under the parcel shelf, is this easy to get to and has anyone got any pics?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Heater fan speed strange problem
« on: 12 September 2022, 22:57:31 »
Just had a play with it, outside temp is 21 so if I set inside temp to 21 fan speeds adjust as normal if I set temp higher or lower than the outside temp the fan comes on full and does not respond to speed buttons, (this is with auto and eco off)

2002 2.2 facelift

The air con doesn’t work ( needs gas I think) the fan speeds act like they are on auto ( full speed) unless the interior temp is set to match the outside temp then I can adjust the fan speed as normal!   Otherwise the blower is full on, no matter what settings I try, any ideas? I have searched but not found a similar problem

Omega General Help / 2.2 petrol head removal and refit

Will be taking the head off to replace bent valves , should be straightforward but any advice gratefully received, I am trying to find the torque settings too.

Would they be the same as the 2.0 16v
