General Car Chat / car tax
« on: 01 October 2016, 11:11:40 »
just been online to tax the Tourer and it always bugs me how they get away with charging a £10-£30 premium for 6 months instead of 12 and now for DD payments. It's just someone at there end pressing a different button.  >:(

Omega General Help / h/brake shoe adjuster
« on: 25 August 2016, 13:15:41 »
Hi,just doing the shoes, pads and discs on the tourer and I'm ready to put everything back together and have noticed that in my haynes book of knowledge it shoes the adjuster in place with the starwheel fitted nearest the caliper but in our own maintenance guide it's the other way.
Does it matter?
Cheers John.

Omega General Help / I smell bull****
« on: 19 August 2016, 10:53:44 »
had a call from the guy who is fitting my cambelt kit to the 3litre elite and he says it's the wrong one (CTK884K1) asked him if he was sure as according to my engine no. it's correct.he insists the timing marks don't line up so against my better judgement i get the later type (CTK990K1).i am then informed that the tensioner and roller parts from my original kit are correct but the belt was wrong and they have used the belt out of the ctk990 kit.now please correct me if wrong but aren't the belts all the same (apart from superceded part no's (Number of teeth 225 Tooth pitch 8[mm] Width 30[mm]) so unless a totally spurious belt has found it's way into the original kit they are telling me porkies.

the RH washer on my pre-facelift isn't passing any water through it extends as it should do and if you remove it from the supply hose it is getting water to it.
can it be unblocked/dismantled or is it knackered?
Cheers John.

Anyone buy the mfl mv6 that finished yesterday on ebay.was in ultra rare silver but had the wrong wheels fitted but had leather recaros and irmscher bumpers.for a time it looked like it was going for £100 which was killing me as I would have had it but was too far away.
