Mine seems to hold the gear virtually to redline before changing I think.
70+ on the bypass and switch off and it will then change to top.

Aye, not uncommon for the HBV to fail. All A/C cars (inc ECC) have them, but I've only seen fail on ECC cars. Not sure why...

This is only A/C not an ECC model so it looks like it can happen to both.

Andy has a point there guys. Bolton water is very soft, as he says soft enough to use for battery electrolyte, so WTF is all that brown crud? Could it be the remains of a leak stop someone has used to try to fix the leaking HBV?

Has the car previously had an oil cooler failure?

Not that I'm aware of just me not knowing where the leak was for a while.

Just changed the HBV after a prolonged leak, I thought it was kettles that suffered from limescale not Omegas.

My mate's ex-girlfriend has met a very wealthy 'entrepreneur'. He owns a Lamborghini! He lives somewhere in the midlands I believe and the last time she went to visit him they stayed in one of his static caravans, (he owns the caravan park.), it was for sale for £200,000. That's how he's so wealthy. They stayed in the caravan because he was having work done to his house.

Guess what he was having done?

Ive had that for years between my front room and my fully equipped workshop.
We call it a front window, with alfresco workshop facilities.
Bolton council refer to it as the front street lol.

Cam sensor? No you got it all wrong he needs a new ECU!  

They've already done that tunnie.

Bet the dealer will want to change it again, followed by a new engine. You know how good their faultfinding is.  :-/

I believe it comes from the days of horse drawn vehicles, the structure the front axle pivoted on was known as the fifth wheel because it looked like another wheel. Amazing what useless info I pick up from the discovery channel
