100 000 miles
« on: 03 April 2012, 00:16:02 »

Having rooted around some photos from last summer I found one of the Omega rolling over 100k miles.

If memory serves, I was driving along the seafront in Worthing and was able to pull over and take the photo.  I think it was late July 2011 when I took this.

So anyone else remember when and where they where when their Omega hit the 100k mark?

Got 31k still to go before then. Going on my current mileage restraints on the insurance. It will take just over 10 years to reach it  ::) ::)

Mine did that about three weeks after I got it in 2009. Now fast approaching 210,000 8)
Although yesterdays' speedo change has seen the indicated drop back to 108,000 ::) Next service is still due in the next couple of weeks either way :y

Had a 750 BMW that was approaching 123456 so went out of a little run to get to that point so I could take a photo, as I was pulling over to stop to take said photo, it rolled over to 123457.....break  ;D

Not in an Omega story, but back in 1974 Mum had a Ford Anglia (Dad couldn't drive). On Tuesday nights he used to go to a local Country & Western club and roll back home about midnight. One week the Ang was on 99,995 and we waited until he came in and dragged him into the car and drove round, slowing to a crawl as it flicked over to 00 000. I don't think he really knew what was going on but it was good fun. Incidentally the clocks only had 5 digits then so we had a car with 0 miles on it.

Never done it in a car, only in van, oh err sounds a bit rude, especially as I was working at the time.

I'm upto 130k on mine and did have photos of 111111 and 123456 on the odometer but sadly have lost the phone they were on :'(

I've owned the car for two and a half years and it had 50k when I bought it :)

Only just run in compared with some cars on the forum.

There's a thread somewhere with the high milers posted. IIRC there are a few around the 250 000 mark!  :y :y

160,000 miles on mine now and not exactly driven by the vicars wife. It'll be fine, just keep the services nice and regular and make sure it's well warmed up before driven hard.

I remember mine clicking over the 100k mark on the M25 on the way to the OOF Hampshire cambelt meet back in 2010.  It's now approaching 105k, so you can tell how much use she gets!  ::)

Mine hit 100k while still in service - it's now up to 164k... still sweet as a nut. Or rather, it will be once I get my Eternal exhaust fitted :y

I don't recall the 100,000 but the lady is semi retired now with 113,000 miles on the clock and pleasingly seems showroom fresh thanks to ongoing restoration!
