Communication Workers Union

Rhetorical question, but are they completely stupid? They don't seem to have grasped the concept of competitive business in a free market ::) Those who didn't apply for shares on principle seem intent on devaluing the stock value simply to spite those that did...

All striking will do is kill the service stone dead, leaving all their postal members unemployed.

This one could run and run. Something to keep us entertained over the cold winter nights.

It's like the US Republicans.  Throwing their toys out of the pram over something that has already happened and cannot be reversed!  ::)

They're not striking over privatisation, but overthe inevitable rationalisation that will come with it. Don't be surprised if you start getting your mail at three in the morning when the postman is on his fifth round.

Who cares ? Does anyone actually send letters these days ? The unions seem to have convinced themselves that they are going to take us back to "the good old days" of the 1970,s.
Having said that, they own Milliband,so if he gets into number 10 they might just get their wish.

OK so they're throwing their toys out of the pram over something that hasn't happened yet and there's no confirmation that it will in the near future.  :-\

Re If.  Yep. Imo,currently the result of the next election are going to be difficult to predict. The last one was pretty obvious about 2 years before it happened.

It's aprivate company with shareholders now. We'll get shafted, the postmen will get shafted and we'll pay a fortune for the privilege. And they'll stop delivering to caves.

And me, with a bit of luck, because all they deliver is junk mail by the truck load. >:(

Absolutely. The only interest I have in the whole thing is that of a taxpayer who doesn't want to subsidise it in any way shape or form.
I would imagine postmen will be even less common than milkmen delivering milk to the doorstep in less than 10 years.
