catching a bus
« on: 10 October 2016, 18:24:08 »

Had to catch a bus today, not used one in ages.

The bus driver was racing another bus, not ideal when they don't handle that well.

This is on top of being in a coach yesterday that made a mess of a fiat shitbox

Why are you sharing a bus with the great unwashed?

Surely you can find leggy bimbo with a sports car to ferry you about. :)

Used to catch a bus occasionally when I lived in Laahhhndon, wasn't too bad, but not great. I now use the train quite a lot and actually like it, as long as I can get where I need to be at the other end. Wales to Lahhndon much cheaper by train than driving.

I use buses reasonably frequently to get the satisfaction of use from free bus pass.

Use busses all the time if I'm having a beer.
Around these parts, £3:10  (Day Rover) gets you unlimited journeys around Hull and area between 06:00 and 23::30 anywhere.
With a bus stop a few hundred yards from my front door it's a no brainer  :y :y

Had my bus pass for ages now. Never used it. Occasionally I pluck up courage and get excited to use it.....then at the last moment I chicken out !!!!! ;D

What is this bus thing of which you speak? Nearest bus stop to me is about 5 miles away!

Don't worry. You're not missing much. It's a thing that takes you to the pub at approximately the same cost per mile as using a private jet, then stops running before closing time. ::)

I would think the last thing you would want to travel in after a session, would be a bus !!! :)

A major factor in our choice of what to house buy and where was the fact that we can walk to many pubs in 5 minutes (the nearest is actually about 3 minutes  :y). walk to restaurants (2 curry houses in 5 mins) , walk to shops, walk to train station, walk to bus station. I sometimes don't use a car for days, and of course don't need buses.

As nowadays I have ever-increasing hospital appointments, I use my bus pass to avoid hospital parking charges of £5 per hour!
The hospital is out of town, and I park on-street a mile or two away from the hospital and get the bus in.
Tedious, yes, but as we all know, appointments rarely keep to time and it is easy to exceed an hour's worth of parking fee.

Well, spookily, my return trip on Monday and my two trips today were all driven by the same (more sensible) driver. What's the chances of that.

Had a nosey look at the Fiat that got wiped out by the coach on Sunday. That's gonna need more that t-cut
