Well I'm glad you're on the mend/not ill/recovered
TBH I think GP's appointments are a backward way of doing things. It just encourages the coughers and lame n lazy to keep going back every week for something or other. It simply ensures those with the most time on their hands get seen.
Our local surgery has a much better system. A maximum of 50% of appointments on any one day can be pre-booked and ONLY by a GP/Nurse. If you want to get in yourself, you call up the morning you want to go in. Then a doctor calls you back within 30mins, discusses your symptoms with you and either gives you appointment, sends you to A&E, sends you to a pharmacist or tells you to pi$$ off.
I've always had an appointment the same day as calling. Then again I've been to the doctors twice in the last 5yrs and always with something relatively serious (cellulitis &
mild sepsis). Both just having returned from foreign travel, so I guess I ticked all the boxes on the initial assessment!
