Fuel pipe options
« on: 07 February 2022, 16:03:41 »

Got the underbody stripped and the fuel pipes are a little less fuel tight than I would like. I don't need it to look factory, I just need it to be safe and proper.

Ive marked all the pipes up for which ones go where - can I get some made up in stainless (by someone who isn't a cack handed Northern oaf)  and use decent clips and fuel hose to make the connections... Or do the high pressure
ones need something similar to the old (brittle) plastic clips?

I use 6mm bore nylon pipe for fuel lines. If you get black, it looks OE. The same stuff that's used for airlines on pneumatic systems. Costs about £1 a meter

Aounds good to me... What about clips and connections?

Is this type (in the right size, just for illustration) sufficient?

Those clamps will do; I've used similar for EFI conversions. Buy mounting clips from the supplier you get the pipe from.

connections are different. If you look at how OE pipes are made, they either use hose clamped over the pipe, or inserted fittings. If your car already uses this size pipe(which is very likely) you just reuse them. Cut the original pipe off with a sharp knife, warm the end of the new pipe with a heat gun and push the fitting home. Or you could buy new ones like THIS
