The same across the range, as far as I know.  Also the same as Carlton/Senator, I think, but no doubt someone will correct me...

I need to replace my bearing on my omega front drivers side, and the vauxhall garage are insisting on a whole new hub for £120. I would have thought a new trade price bearing from the motorfactors of 25 quid would do the trick!
I have seen the how to guide on here and i think its good and want to try it, but if it goes slightly wrong or gets stuck, then i am stuck!
what ideas do you have!?

He's right,  you replace the whole hub..

c£120 is the price at Vauxhall for the complete bearing/hub assembly, I paid a little less than £100 earlier this year for my car - then found out the bearing/hub could be bought for somewhat less else where!  :( .....
You pays your money ...........  :y They're torque'd up to ball breaking lb/ft

i imagine its the same across the range, but naturally i'd be more inclined to get one off another omega as opposed to a senny or carlton... just in case ;D

Its the same unit.

They can be had cheaper, if you wait and be patient.  I paid less than a tenner delivered for a genuine VX one last year....

If the bearing is shot, is all you need to replace alongwith stub nut...

Armoured Omegas? Plod wagons, or something more sinister?

plenty of them over here in n ireland and can be bought very cheap with very little milage for parts or repair but most are very badly decommisioned so really only suitable for parts, only a month ago i saw one selling for £750  direct from the police year 2000(not facelift) 50000 miles alloy lsd bright red but needed 4 doors + complete interior except seats but would be excellent for parts, i was tempted myself just to keep for parts but have not really got the storage space so did not bother.
