Winter drone is here again
« on: 30 September 2008, 20:09:13 »

:(Hi. I am again experiencing a drone that comes in at about 28 mph and dissapears at about 40 mph, this only seams to be when it's quite cold and almost undetectable when the weather is good/warm.
Has any of you experienced this and perhaps know of a cure, the car has only done 80,000 miles, if I am able to drive straight through the problem speed there is no problem but if stuck in between 28-40 it is anoying.
Best regards Mike.

Hi, No I have had a new set fitted "Falken ZE 912" to front and rear they are perfect and so quiet.
This drone can be heard but not felt if that helps.

Does it get any worse if you turn the car whilst the drone is there, ie- playing around with it a bit, can you make it louder???

Hi, I have tried all sorts :- Driving round big roundabouts and corners, coasting in neutral, warming the engine up before driving thinking it might be an engine problem, slowing down to the problem speed does the same.
I have owned the car for about 5 years now and it hasn't got any worse but is still annoying.
