Changing Diff Oil
« on: 02 June 2009, 08:15:17 »

Hey all,

it's about time i changed my diff oil, so i'm just looking for a quick couple of answers:

1)Any specific recommendations for the viscosity?
2)To save me putting the car up on stands only to find i don't have the right tool, can anyone tell me what i need to take out the bung? Is it a hex or something like on the sump nut?

 :) thanks,
Phil

There is no drain plug, so you will either need to suck it out using an oil extractor or remove the backplate from the diff.

The filler level plug needs a hex key IIRC.

Unless you have a LSD that's misbehaving it's sufficient just to top up the oil IMHO.
