How much damage can you really do with a pancake?

(I'll probably find out later!)

Phrase nicked from another topic .....
This is the reason that the pancake race has been cancelled. Just replace US, from above, with UK. Wasn't there uproar the other year when it was suggested that an Armistice Day parade should be cancelled due to the same reason cited in the original headline ie cost of insurance & police

Nick Ferrari said on the radio yesterday (London only) that he can't believe that some passengers from flight BA 0038 are suing BA for the trauma... and for having fear of flight due to the crash... and for the fact that they have been left standing on the runway for 20 minutes after evacuating the aircraft.

We really need to re-instate some assumption of a reasonable level of common sense before it's too late.

If a person can't assess for himself the risks involved in running down a cobbled street carrying a frying pan, or appreciate that if his flight lands on its' belly there are going to be some complications, then surely they are destined to have a hard life whatever happens.

With luck they will remove themselves from the gene pool before figuring out how to procreate, and will therefore do us all a favour. Why does everyone else's life need to be dumbed down to a level that allows them to be protected?  >:(

Apparently BA offered a free flight over London and free counselling to all passengers in order to help them overcome the fear-of-flight...

One of the listeners called-in and said that BA should give free tickets for life to every person that was on board that aircraft. Interesting idea, no doubt that would have cured their fear-of-flight pretty quickly...  ;D

OK, it is not fun being on board an aircraft that crash lands and granted there will be long term effects. But as said above the travelling public should be aware of the risks, and unless BA are actually proven to be negligent (which is not known yet to be the case) then I don't see why it is their fault.... after all their own staff (and aircraft) were affected as well.

A few years ago we had just taken off from Reus on a Ryanair flight when the engines ingested a flock of seagull like birds. We did an emergency landing from about 50 feet up. Very exciting as books and stuff went flying past everyone to the front of the plane.

We were just so relieved to be alive.

Just sit back, relax, and have a big grin. The stupid b*stards will put themselves in an early grave.
Imagine how long it takes one of these imbeciles to cross the road without a pelican crossing. They must be standing on the pavement ,in a cold sweat, for about half an hour.  ;D

Talking of very silly things..

This morning on BBC news there was a little segment about the prevalence of tooth decay in society today. Apparently some huge percentage of people have poor dental health.

The solution - A proposal to add fluride to the local water supplies so that all the lazy people who cannot be bothered to brush their teeth can get the recommended amount of fluride needed. Thereby cutting down on the incidence of poor dental hygiene.

Made me chuckle  ;D
