need audio advice for S-plate MV6
« on: 22 March 2010, 11:04:36 »

OK, so this ex-plod I've bought has come with no stereo. I want to add one, but don't know what to ask for.

Recommendations please :-

It must have been fitted to a Vauxhall as original fitment
It must fit in the standard hole
it must plug into the standard loom with the "3-deck" connector
It must have a cd player
It must NOT have sat-nav or telephone functionality

I'm sure someone around here will be able to post that what I want is a "CDR2002" or something like that ?

The CDR 500 will fit the bill and is readily available from breakers, egay or one of the members on here.It has a single cd player and a radio. It was standard fit on several Vauxhalls including the Astra,Vectra and Omega.I hope that helps. I've got one knocking around somewhere if you are desperate and it has got it's code. :y

am guessing its a facelift plod car if so the display normally dosnt work when you refit a gm unit so you may have to go std din and buy the double din converter and use a aftermarket unit.

oke dokey.  just put a std din aftermarket unit in. unless you are wanting to put a gm unit in. it should still have the audio plug behind the centre consle with the poss that the two power wires have been cut to power other plod gear.

it must be a GM unit - anything else just looks chavvy to me.

mind you,I'm not fussed about it talking to the display.

methinks I'm sorted now anyway.

thanks to all  :y

The 'retail' MV6 came with ccr600 with a 6 disk cdc2 changer in boot.  Hope that helps
