Title: 2.2 petrol head removal and refit
Post by: veralum on 02 August 2022, 05:41:32
Will be taking the head off to replace bent valves , should be straightforward but any advice gratefully received, I am trying to find the torque settings too.

Would they be the same as the 2.0 16v

Almost certainly.

label everything where connectors came from and vacuum pipes, and take as many photos as you strip the pieces off the head. Will make rebuild so much easier. Fitting a new timing belt kit and water pump, will be easier as you have removed the belt anyway. Also a timing locking tool for the cams is a must. Will assume you are already going to be changing the valve, stem seals. It isn't a hard job to do. Plenty of helpfull people on here if you are not sure of something. :y

The belt could have snapped, or slipped causing timing to go out. So valves meet top of pistons. As the engine is a interference one.
