About 6 years ago I did 13 night shifts in  row. Had 3 days off then did another 5.
Nearly bloody killed me.  ;D

Asked by a colleague if I could cover his shift Monday night.
Jumped straight in and said yes,  then realised I will be starting seven shifts in a row tomorrow morning, so a 99 hour week.
Oh well, think of the money I suppose.  ::)

My 3.2 averages 24.5 mpg. About the same as every 6 cylinder Vauxhall Ive ever owned.
Having said that, the previous ones all got soundly thrashed and this one doesnt, so maybe proves TB,s point.

My old boss reckoned his 3.0 manual Omega (ex plod) averaged 35mpg, but then he also reckoned his Monaro did 185mph and ate M5,s for breakfast.  ::)

BBC announced a new radio programme for him a few days ago:o
He was very overweight for a long time, so may be connected ?

It seems I may have been wrong about this.
Online talk seems to lean towards he took his own life because the Beeb had dumped him.
Time will tell I suppose.

Either version installed in an Astra van, will make it fly like excrement off a highly polished digging implement.

For me its a bit like alcoholism. I think if I got back on one just once, I would be down my local bike shop with credit card in hand.  ;D

On a similar note. About 25 years ago Motorcycle News priced up all the individual parts to build a Kawasaki ZX6r.
Price of a bike was around £6,500 at the time iirc. Price of all the individual parts was around £27,000.
Yeah, but Quaka parts always were outrageously priced.  I remember paying something like £6.99 each for some (probably) M4 countersunk for the brake reservoir, because I was desperate, and I bet that was over 20 years ago ;D

Istr Honda parts were even more expensive. Although theirs tended be of much better quality than the other Jap manufacturers.
Suzuki were particularly bad. Their build quality was always piss poor.
Might be different now, I wouldnt know.
