Ex asylum seeker who was granted asylum on his third application.
Thirty years ago this would have been a national scandal. Now it barely raises a murmur.  >:(

From my experience of driving them in the early 90's, if you drove one now, you may not miss it quite as much as you think... ;D
I had three of them in total, 1st was 825 Sterling which was under powered,2nd was 827sli auto which is still on the road and the Vitesse was the last one but that was a manual :y

Thrown together by bone idle communists.  ;) :y

Harsh, but true.  :y ;D

Go to bed for a month or two and get the covid out of your system.  :P

Similar weather here. Very pleasant. Did a quick engine service on BIL,s Astra van.
He then helped me rebuild my garden fence that got blown down by the wind last week.
Ready for a spot of lunch and a cold beer now, which will be followed by the now traditional middle aged afternoon nap.  :D

Indeed. My old Dad suffered from it in his last few years.
I really wish he had gone earlier than he did. He didnt deserve to lose all his dignity like that.  :'(

It did a long windows update last night and then the usual expected networks came up.
No idea how or why, but looks like panic is over.  :-\

She has two ipads and some other kind of tablet. Hates the things as do I.  ::)
Lenovo is apparently unfixable.  :( :(
Strange that the Lenovo shows the usual / expected networks, but the Sony shows gockonet and some other unheard of option.
Didnt do it yesterday. Just when switched on today.  :-\

Swmbos Lenovo laptop has lost ability to charge due to USB C socket breaking inside where it connects to the mother board.
She has fired up sons old Sony Vaio to use while arranging a replacement Lenovo.
She has spent the last few days doing updates, binning old programmes etc etc.
It kept disconnecting itself from the interweb, but yesterday she though she had fixed that and it appeared to be running pretty well.
Today when she switched it on, rather than see the expected connection options (ours plus a few of the neighbours secured ones) she saw only two options and didnt recognise either of them.
One of them was geckonet, which after a little research she has decided might be something scary ?
There is a bit of battery life left in her Lenovo so she switched that one and it showed the usual list of possible connections she would expect to see.
Any advice or opinions welcome.

I would love to see the restoration of the death penalty in the UK, but I cant see it ever happening.  :(

I have long assumed that Blair hated this country and did everything he possibly could to destroy what was good about it while he had the chance.
Perhaps worse though is that we have had 13 years of Tory Govt. and they have done absolutely nothing to try and repair the damage.
In fact in many respects they have made things worse.

Reform UK is our only hope now. Its a slim hope, but the only one there is.

I had one for a while 20 years ago. Bought it from my MIL for £75 with 67000 miles on the clock.
Spent £300 tidying it up and sold it for £750. I was pretty chuffed at the time to have doubled my money.  ::)
Didnt get much pleasure from driving it tbh. FWD torque steer isnt my idea of fun.
Pretty little cars though.  :y

As Ive said before. Its too late now. We are finished.  :'(

Im not too far from Wethersfield airbase, where the Govt and courts overuled the district council and filled it with dinghy arrivals recently.
They are now complaining about yuman rites, mentole elf etc etc.
They have doctors and dentists permanently on call to cater for them, while us locals have no hope of seeing either.
They are taken on buses into Braintree (nearest town) and can then travel further afield freely from there.
Coincidentally there is a crimewave of burglaries around Braintree, and now the next village to me, where crime has almost been unheard , has had warnings from essex police, to lock doors, windows, use burglar alarms, dont leave car keys visible etc. etc.
When it gets out into these little sleepy villages, we know we are past the point of no return.
I plan on taking some measures to defend myself and my household if it comes to it.
Im a decrepit old fart now, but if I go down I want to make sure I do some proper damage to some ficker while Im going.
