You'll still get next to nothing out in the sticks, as that doesn't pay. ;)
But if you can get high cell capacity, and good penetration (by selecting the right frequencies), you can have a better footprint from each rural mast....

...but I suspect that will more likely end up in less rural masts and the same coverage as now, and save the operator a few quid ;D

It will support the 'bands' but not the tech needed to get full speed from them (which will be low anyway, as its a very limited bandwidth).
2 ticks....

The higher frequency bands will be even more useless for coverage!
But potentially work better in busy areas, and I imagine they would have higher bandwidth.  Bit crap if you are indoors in a big building in a big city though ;D.  Will client devices try to negotiate on the high bandwidth high frequency bands first, and fall back to low frequency lower bandwidth bands, with the cell tower set up for lots of bands?

From my last trip to Brumingham...

Whilst that's nowhere near what 5G promises for the future, its more than adequate for now.  From a public mast in the city centre.

Eventually, I bought two things...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254669429644
and
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115068034580

Have got both in my grubby paws now, so just need to make them work, for which I apparently need summut called a SIM card, whatever one of them is.

After several more seconds of extensive research, it seems that a UK PAYG SIM card is the cheapest option for both the USA and Oz. So I walked into the local 3 shop this morning, and tried to purchase 2x12GB preloaded data SIMs for £15 each. What a faff. Turns out there is some 'summer data deal' on, so the 12GB has been upgraded to 16GB, they're £10 each, and they're on a buy two, get one free deal.

Anyhow, I now have three 16GB PAYG sim cards for £20. Just got to work out how to activate the wretched things now. They only last 30 days apparantly, and have to be activated whilst you're still in the UK.
