More explanation is needed:

Does the remote unlock the car?

Does the key work the locks? If you locked the car using the remote, then this takes a lot of effort.

Where did you apply the WD40 and why?

What was the reason for a new battery and starter?

Is the battery flat? This is most likely, and it being new is irrelevant.

A good battery should stay charged longer than 2 weeks, so if it is flat the car has an electrical fault.

You have to turn the key clockwise in the drivers door quite hard till you feel and hear it click, if battery not working.

as nick points out above.a good battery on an omega should stay charged longer than 2 weeks unless you have a battery drain.
in standard form you should still be able to start the car easily after 2 months !

Turn the key clockwise in the drivers door past the vertical to approx two o'clock. The key might feel stiff. I've read on here that the door knob might not pop up, even so pulling on the handle should open the door.

Be careful when turning key as the force needed can make key come apart and risk of losing immobiliser chip.

Did you use safe lock btw? By locking it twice? In that case you can’t unlock it by lifting the door pins, unfortunately… It’s a common Opel/Vauxhall problem with safe lock option. That’s also the reason I only lock the doors once, never twice.

Not actually true.

It takes proper effort, but the pins CAN be lifted up. Ideally using mole grips with the window out of the way*

Open or broken, either works.
