The rear seats are heated via a relay. Maybe that. I don't know where it's located though.
my haynes manual arrived today but it doesnt say where the relay is located,,,

Omega General Help / buzzing under rear seats?
« on: 12 March 2008, 16:58:46 »
hope i`m not boring you all on here with this problem,,, just cant get my head round it,,
i`ve mentioned on previous topics that my battery seems to be being drained by something,, firstly i thought it was the level pump as it was working all the time even with car turned off( after advise from DTM i took the relay out)
now the battery as gone flat again,,, jumped it and checked the voltage ,, only 12.8v,,( maybe the flat battery was draining some of the charge?) after fully charging the battery and restarting the car i got a very good 14.4v,,
while tinkering away i noticed a buzzing from under the rear seat this was before i even put the key in,, could this be from the heated element bit?? looking at the rear switches they are slightly lit and if i pressed one they both light up,, i took the fuse out and the buzzing stops and the switches go out,,,
i could just undo the heated seats but really need to find out why its doing it,,,
the only thing i can think of is when i bought a new battery for it ,,, the bloke in shop plugged a charger type thing it the cigarette lighter so i wouldnt loose my code on the radio,,, without thinking i turned the car off,,, but it kept running,,while the charger was plugged it, maybe i damaged something????
again i`m sorry for going on but would really welcome any ideas on this matter,,,

On the bell housing flange on the 2-4-6 bank side (right side when viewed from the aux pulley end) you should see the engine number and engine type engraved.
cheers mark,,

I believe that the 3.0 has the extended plenum on it, so it overhangs the camcover as the 2.5 finishes at the cover :-/

cheers,, but i would imagine it will be a stripped engine i`ll be buying

Omega General Help / how to spot a 3L
« on: 26 March 2008, 21:09:28 »
hello everyone,,
i`m buying a 3L engine,,, just occurred to me how will i know its not a 2.5?
can someone tell me where the number or stamp will be on it ??
i`ve taken a 2.5 out of my calibra but its not at my house to check on.

i bought a 3L elite with the idea of taking the engine out to put in my calibra then sell whats left,,, but as i`ve said before on this site i`m really impressed with the car,, so thats why i`m buying a engine rather than break my elite up.
 great site by the way.
 cheers.

Omega General Help / flat battery,, strange things happening
« on: 01 March 2008, 17:32:06 »
hiya,
went to start my V6 yesterday and the battery was flat,,, its a brand new battery as well,, i jumped it off my other car and it started,, took it off to charge,, waiting for friend to return my charger!!
put the flat battery back on with the view to let the alternator charge it and connected it to my other car to jump it when i heard a motor running down at the front of the engine bay near o/s wheel,,, tried to start the car but it just wasnt strong enough to spin quickly ,, then the back of the car rose up,,
wasa the motor running a pump for the rear suspension or could it be a circulater for the water??? but as said it was running without turning the key.
would welcome your thoughts on this,,,, while i wait for my charger
