General Discussion Area / scrappers - american co

a pal of mine was looking to replace an engine in a zafira. he contacted various breakers before obtaining one. One in particular situated 10 miles east of york (used to be simpson bros) U-Pull-It has about 600+ makes & models.  the idea is you buy the complete motor , and then have a day to strip the parts. because of H&S regs engines & gearboxes has to be removed by the breakers staff & there is an extra charge for this . eg - miggys 3@ £285  1@ £200 . apparently its an american firm looking to make inroads into the UK. find them at www.upullit.co.uk. it would be interesting to see if other oofers think this idea will catch on. :-/ :-/

i have a mate who has recently done filters & oil changes for me. iv,e used to wonder why the dipstick always showed overfilled. his receipts were for pattern filters (which i didn,t mind) i recently did the work myself and i had a struggle getting the fuel and oil filters off. my shock & horror when i managed it was they were genuine vx filters. they to my recollection were done 14k ago by a guy that retired.
did the pc test & found fc  44 .. it looks as if iv,e been shafted.   >:( >:( there are some tw*ts about

General Discussion Area / my mates nissan
« on: 27 April 2009, 23:23:24 »
my nieghbour has recently bought himself a big japanese 7 seater job. one day i saw him with his wife getting off the bus with his weekly shopping. i asked him what was wrong with his car, reply was "don,t ask". a week later i asked his mate if my neighbour had his motor sorted, and he told me what he,d done. simply had taken a fuse out  whilst dong something and fitted it back in a position meant for a spare fuse. nobody could find the problem. in the end the dealership towed it,and charged him £185 to put the fuse to its proper slot. :)
