General Discussion Area / Texas 100 massive car crash turns fatal
« on: 23 November 2012, 07:13:48 »
The Southeast Texas I-10 pileup on Thanksgiving Day in Beaumont turned fatal. The massive 100 car crash left two dead and at least 80 injured according to the Highway Patrol. Fog is being blamed for the multiple collisions that some describe as catastrophic.
Huffington Post noted in its Nov. 22 reported that a man a woman died in the Texas highway pileup. Reportedly, the Chevy Suburban sport utility vehicle was crushed beneath an 18-wheeler.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, there was foggy driving conditions at the time vehicles began colliding.
The early morning crashes in Southeast Texas on Interstate 10 left a pileup that was difficult for responding officers to respond due to the thick fog.
Accident investigators said the fog was so thick in places, the chain reaction led to crashes and pileups on both sides of I-10.
