I have a 2004-plate MV6. I have an NCDC 2013 and CID (paired) from a donor vehicle. I wish to install them into my MV6. Am I correct in thinking that it is plug and play providing that the car is equipped with the 12-point RGB plug?

Yep, and assuming its not Bose.

If you have the 2006 or lesser model then no.

Not Bose, but the existing head unit is CCR2006. What are the implications of that? No RGB plug?

No RGB plug and a few changes required on the wiring to the display, can be done by making up an adaptor loom using an old traffic master loom.

Latter part of those instructions covers it (from the section where it says 'To wire a GID in place of the supplied MID ....'

Yes, wiring mod as per GID (which corrects the signals for the large display connector) and then add the RGB signals in as per the CID

Cheers Mark. I have the CID 12-pin plug mentioned in the guide, never attempted wiring before though. Any recommended tools for the job (here goes nuthin'...!)

I mean, I have crimpers, butt connectors, wire cutters. I guess I've answered my own question there, huh!

Yep, that's about all you need.

As said, I use an old traffic master loom and make up an adaptor assembly rather than butchering the dash loom.

You may need to ground one of the pins on the CID large connector to get tech 2 comms working (if its ever needed) but cant recall if its pin 1 or 32.

Interesting. I have a genuine Tech 2 so should be able to test it one way or the other.

Can you elaborate re the Traffic master loom? Does it have a plug that can be used to connect to the dash blocks? I'm not quite sure what you mean/what it would be used for? Or do you mean butcher the Trafficmaster loom for its pin connectors?

Thinking aloud, I'm pretty certain, RGB aside, it will just work, as the 3 wires used for the MID happen to be the same 2 needed for CID.

Trying to think how I did Goldie.  I may still have the TM loom knocking around that I used.

The CID needs pins 1 and 32 joined. It will work if you don't, but the Tech2 won't see it.

Just checked my donor PFL MV6 and it's equipped with Trafficmaster, which suggests that I have all the tools -and the additional loom - for the job. Can you advise regarding what is required with the TM loom and how it incorporates into the equation? I'm keen to crack on and get this installed, but am a little unsure about the following. This might be pretty simple stuff, but you know what it's like when you over-complicate/can't read between the lines as you get to grips with something. I will no doubt wonder what all the fuss was about when I've finished the job!

1. How is the Trafficmaster loom is used in this setup
2. Joining pins 1 and 32 - is this a direct link between pin 32 of the 32-way GID/CID connector and pin 1 of the 12-way CID connector?
3. According to the instructions at http://home.btconnect.com/nickargue/OmegaSatNav.htm, pin 17 and 18 of the 36-way connector both feed into pin 2 of the 12-way connector? Does this mean that the wires are connected prior to a single terminal that goes into pin 2?

I have a satnav aerial here. Came from the donor vehicle along with the 12-pin connector etc. I presume this is a straightforward swap with my poverty-spec aerial?

Correct. Only required if you need diagnostic tools to work.

I've looked, but can't find it.

Pretty certain it was just 2 of the wires going to MID were swapped on to the CAN output from the HU. Plus the 6 wires for the CID's map mode of course.
