Also, although not tested on an MOT (I think?), the headlight washers stopped working around Christmas. Can't hear the pump.  Another job to wait until its warmer!

Required to work for LED and HID bulbs I believe.

Don't talk to me about them. Mine just syphon out the contents of the washer bottle on first application, so the relay is removed except for MOTs.

My Volvo did same so they are no longer, strange thing is mines on normal halogen bulbs so not required anyway :-\

The Boxsrer has a pretty neat system for changing bulbs. A little metal bar holds the whole headlight unit in place. Turn in 45 degrees and pull the whole unit out to replace bulbs. Push the unit back into place and turn the bar back the way it came to secure it. Seemples.

My Touareg uses same set up, volvo easy too, just pull two pins up and lamp is out

no, that won't happen for many years yet. If ever - consider just what a Victor is worth and how few there are.

I would hanker after  the first model Ventora with a 3.3 litre straight 6 lorry engine.

My dad had two of them,an FD and then an FE

If memory serves the earlier FD was a good looking car, and the later FE looked as though it had been beaten with the 'ugly stick'. :)

I would agree although Dad always said the later car was a nicer drive

The amount of idiots on the A1 on the way home from Stansted airport, our cab driver was terrific a true professional but some of the driving we witnessed was simply ridiculous but no cop cars around anymore.

Let me guess, 90% was aggesivly driven German cars?

Got to do battle with many of them on the way to NEC tomorrow to set up the ABS club stand for the Classic show

Been there today but didn't bump into you, will try harder tomorrow as did speak to you last year

If it was indeed the Iranians behind the assassination attempts they need to re-visit their selection process and employ better/more accurate assassins/snipers because the ones they've used so far have been rubbish.

Agreed!

Drove mine to household waste full of a couple of smashed up wardrobes. It’s times like this that I miss my Omega Estate, with its more upright tailgate. My A6 Avant may be longer than my Omega but the sloping tailgate reduces the height and length that you can load to.  ::)

All estates seem to have sloping tailgates these days, even the Volvo V90.  :-\

How is an antique dealer supposed to get a wardrobe in one of those?  ???  ;D

I believe Lovejoy owned one. :)

I think that every self respecting antique dealer has had a Volvo estate at some point.  Mine was a deceased antique dealers car.  :)

I have a Volvo estate but I am an antique so all well !!

Stopped working,

Message on dash says 'Service parking brake '

Run diagnostics- Inoperative 0v. Not very helpful.

Can't go crawling about anymore as I'm 85.

Any suggestions or is it a trip to the stealers?

I've seen a few switches fail and also wiring going green and failing at the harness plug under the car

Several companies around the country who specialise in repairing ECU,s .
BBA REMAN are probably the best known, so might be worth starting with them.

I think BBA are gone, Ecu testing still about though
