Bought another one.... BMW 330i (E92) M Sport Coupe. 2010 with 66K on the clock. 

Nice one.    I had a few E92’s, in both 335d/330d and 330i guise and loved them.    We liked them so much that we even had ‘his and hers’ E92’s at the same time, with hers being the petrol as she didn’t do the miles that I did. They sit on the road nicely and handle really well when pushed. I was sad to see the last one go but we moved on to the 4 series coupe.

I know it’s a terrible photo of my last E92 330d, but I didn’t take many photos of them back then. 
Hope yours serves you well. 

Lovely car! I wanted a petrol non-turbo car for the simpler mechanicals, never owned a coupe before and thought I'd better correct that!

Has to go to allow for this one. Still have the silver one and one 23 year old car is plenty thanks!

Started stripping the black Omega of the extras I plumbed into it ready to sell / scrap it.

On Saturday I replaced all the scanky sticky door handle trims. 



 

Need to work out how to restore that bit of leather next. Any ideas chaps? 

That's a job I need to do on mine as well.

Replaced the door seal on the 530D. Thirteen years of wear had taken its toll

I manually changed the clock today in my fancy premium brand 5 Series BMW. 

To date my humble Vauxhall Omega is the only car I've ever owned that has altered the time itself when the clocks go back/forward.

I found Bilstein B4's lasted well on mine (>100k and I think scrapped with them still on) as well, but I got them at a sensible price.  B4 is supposedly similar to factory spec, though I've heard some say they felt hard (probably because the old shocks they took off were utterly fubar)

The Sachs ones are the factory fit shocks, Bilsteins are an equivalent at best. And their supplied fittings are dire compared to the Sachs ones which are indistinguishable from the genuine VX parts in my experience.

Don't recall any fitting issues with either fronts or saloon rears.

I only mention them because they lasted so much longer than the ones from the dealer, for similar price

No me either, fitting kit with B4's were fine with the sets I bought (fitted full sets to three or four Omegas IIRC). Rears on black car are weeping now, but with the age, mileage and style of driving i'd say it's fair enough.

Not sure if they all did to be honest.

Yours being an F11 will have a square setup for the wheels. I think you would have to be careful with a space saver spare kit as the front discs and caliper on mine only just fit under a 19 inch wheel, might get away with 18 inch but no less.

Stick the spare wheel on the boot lid like the old Rover 2000/2200/3500.

If I had a boot lid... 

Spotted this and as I don't very often have passengers in the back it could live in the rear footwell behind the front passenger seat. 

Something to ponder....  Although I carry a can of puncture goo and a compressor, I don't really like the idea of not having a spare. 

I presume your 5 series isnt running  on runflats?

One of mine is the same. I just set the time right and left the date.

Want to try a firmware flash, next time you're passing, see if it resolves it?

Give me plenty of notice, as chrisgixer has my Tech2 I think. Either that, or I've put it somewhere safe, lol.

I am a fair bit closer to OOF HQ having moved last year, but.... MOT runs out on the black Omega end of this month and unless someone wants it (and wants to plate and weld up an inner wing and a few other jobs) it'll be cubed most likely    Mind you, I still have the ornament one as well - but that'd involve fitting a battery and seeing what the NCDC does in that!

Check carefully as most sparks cannot install chargers (requires C&G 2921 or equivalent, and some specialist test kit) and many of the charger suppliers require a certificate to enable the smart capabilities and warranty on them

He is fully authorised and mentioned how they now check every single install. He stopped doing them for a while, because they kept changing the rules.

Other option is getting it via Octopus, I need to check actually if they allow another company to do it.

Octopus hated by decent electricians as they do the cheapest easiest installs with terrible workmanship - CU's installed outdoor or in the meter cupboard (not your property - belongs to the DNO), incorrect  RCBO's etc etc.
