Omega General Help / Engine ECU repair.

 This question is for one of my 3.2's.  Lumpy tick over, EML on, so with the help of Dr G, the dodgy ECU was swapped from the other 3.2  and vice versa to confirm that a fault is present PO150, O2 sensor had been changed with a new Bosch sensor before the ECU change around. So currently running the 3.2 on a 2.6 ECU and running great...but I've been trying to get the faulty ECU repaired,and have sent it to a couple of companies, who big themselves up, but can't help. So is there any one here that may have had a positive result recently for an engine ECU repair? Also there are a couple of used ones on ebay, but minus the chip and transponder ring, so basically £150's worth of door stop!

Omega General Help / Elite ...complete lock out.

 School boy error....I isolated the battery last night,and of course the car won't let me back in this morning. I have tried the usual thing of trying to unlock with the  key, and that's a no. I have the front grill removed as I'm prepping the bonnet for a repaint, and have tried to fiddle around to get the bonnet released...but it'll have to released from inside the locked car. I'm at a bit of a loss as to solve this one.

Omega General Help / NGK, Bosch O2 sensors.

 Does anyone know of a reliable supplier, of decent quality O2 sensors? As I need a pre cat one, as I stupidly put an ebay one from RTG on, and although they have a five year guarantee, it has only lasted less that a hundred miles and showing a PO150 code. So I'm not going to bother dealing with RTG and the so claimed five year guarantee, I'm just going to get rid, and take the lesson. So any pointers to a good source will be much appreciated

Omega General Help / Crankshaft sensor question.

Having a bit of a stock take this morning, and was looking through the crank sensors, and all OE, no knock offs. But checking the part numbers,  they were all 90492006, but upon checking the plugs, there was a mix of square and oval plugs and all three pin. So could the square ones be used on my 3.2's?

Omega General Help / Oil cooler cleaning etc.

 Just a quickie... I've just acquired a couple of very good oil coolers, one stainless and the other the older type, and looking at them they are in really good condition. Both  having come from well cared for low mileage cars, and although they look pretty clean, I was thinking could they be cleaned a little more before being put in the spares shed....any tips would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Omega General Help / 3.0 oil filler neck....removing.

Can I remove the long part of the oil filler neck as on the 3.2's. Just had a quick go at seeing if it comes off, but being a bit on the cack handed side I didn't want break it if the 3.0 is different.....twist and tug,  just tug or leave it alone? tia.

Omega General Help / Intermittent spanner light.

I'm getting the spanner warning light coming on now and again, code reader says 1 DTC found, but never a code. I've tried it a few times but nothing, and car the is running perfectly. I know this is one of those 'how long is a piece of string?'' questions, but I've got a 500mile rounder to do next week and don't want to push my luck with a possible developing fault......if there is one??

Is there any way to completely disconnect the immobiliser on the Elite.....got a strange feeling that it's draining the battery down, power sounder was removed a few years back.....BTW electrickery is not high on my skill set.

Looking at the mileage on one of the 3.2's now showing at 251,000 miles I was wondering whether the time has come to change to a different grade of oil. This car has had documented oil changes every 3 thousand miles from new, and for the last ten years probably that period has come down to a thousand or a bit less. I'm only asking as a couple of people have suggested using a thicker grade, would appreciate your thoughts TIA

Omega General Help / Plastic door bushes.

I'm getting low on the plastic door bushes, was thinking whether anyone ever found an alternative replacement, i.e Corsa,Vectra etc......getting fed up with the stealers blank looks when asking for anything, as it's computer says no for virtually everything now.
