Know how you feel, I'm heading that way also, possibly this is the last year that I'll be mucking around with my three Omegas. The coming April VED hikes are the only thing that's  holding me back at the moment....but have already cancelled the tax on one car and the second one is imminent, as common sense is starting to kick in much to the relief of SWMBO.

 Just a quickie... I've just acquired a couple of very good oil coolers, one stainless and the other the older type, and looking at them they are in really good condition. Both  having come from well cared for low mileage cars, and although they look pretty clean, I was thinking could they be cleaned a little more before being put in the spares shed....any tips would be greatly appreciated. TIA

That engine was built around 20k ago by Daz, loadsa time and money went into it, but Daz never did build sheets etc so must presume the oil cooler was sound at the time of the work being done. Luckily if that was a worse case scenario, Rock Autos still keep them for the Catera at £300 a pop. But further investigation will find out what's really needed. Strangely enough, I had planned to park this car and one of the 3.2's up for the next six months, as there's not much point in taxing them for the winter, that's nearly £800 that pig face won't be able to give away

Ooer! didn't think about the oil cooler. This 3.0 is an early facelift circa 2000, did they fit the oil cooler upgrade to stainless?

The 3.2's have both been done yonks ago, but on the 3.0, I'm getting a few seconds of misfire on a cold start up, plus a couple of minutes of white smoke which is slow to dissipate plus a small amount of mayo in the filler neck. But just having just done a 500 mile round trip without issues, other than the coolant changing in colour to a sludgy brownish colour, also oil checks out clean,I'm thinking possibly head gasket??

Can I remove the long part of the oil filler neck as on the 3.2's. Just had a quick go at seeing if it comes off, but being a bit on the cack handed side I didn't want break it if the 3.0 is different.....twist and tug,  just tug or leave it alone? tia.

Sounds good.....under floor heating and A/C,  big screen TV, recliner, coffee and tea making, mini bar...not sure if there's anything missing  OK,  a minion or two to work on the cars, and then it's just another day in Paradise
