Unfortunately it's a life threatening situation, with SWMBO, sort of like a grenade with the pin pulled and she's holding the spoon getting ready to release it, just as I put my hand on the oven door   So that's a no all round. Will need to rethink

I know that the recognised method of separating the lens from the body, is sticking the whole thing into the oven and heating it up to soften the sealant to gain access to the broken adjuster. But just having received a red card in relation to using the oven and kitchen as a workshop ( I only want to do four) bit harsh, so  that looks like a no! So the question is....has anyone either used a hair dryer or a heat gun to do the job and will it work? Now looks like I'll be  the green house for me if the advice is good. tia

Consumable service parts are still affordable, but used parts have gone through the roof, mainly because sellers are just greedy, and previous experiences have proved that a lot of the used parts are overpriced junk!

Apologies for sticking my nose in....but the talk of top hoses got me thinking about needing a new one at any time, bearing mind I have three cars to increase the chance of needing any sort of hoses for the V6's. And I was wondering whether Silicone would be a feasible alternative to the stupidly expensive second hand rubbish on Fleabay. I have found a company called Merlin Motorsports in Wiltshire who say that they can make to a given pattern, and was wondering whether the V6 engines generate too much heat for Silicone hoses

I guess if he wants to take the risk, then I may well do the deal. If they are a correct fit then he should be happy with what I'm asking for them....which is only a small percentage of the total cost of the refurb.

Thanks Al, but I can confirm that the pipes for the 3.2 and possibly the rest of the V6 range are completely different to the 2.2 system and the 2.0....much learned through my cock up and financial loss in getting the wrong set refurbished I am trying to sell that set to a member on here that wants them for his 2.0, and I'm not confident that they are compatible with his car.
