What is this widget for? Under battery tray

If that link works... If not its a connector, with red wires coming out, held to the inner wing under the battery tray by a bracket with two small hex screws. Next to the earthing point.

I do think I asked this last time I was standing in an Omega engine bay but my search has come to nothing. I think it might have been air con related which is good if so,  because I will throw it in the bin.

(And yes I do have more pressing issues like the fact the car is made partly of bran flakes. All in good time)

Oh bugger don't say that. The wire further along is chafed so I'll have to deploy the electronics GCSE.

And I didn't get one of those!
