Sounds like a good project

Start with the basics and then worry about the cosmetics. I think Euroland had more choice of wheels, including a good looking 17" five spoke on the newest Executive models

When I had issues earlier this year with the random / intermittant failure to lock  / unlock on my 2002 3.2, and problems with the interior light staying on, after trying all types of checks with no success, I fitted the central locking ecu from an identical age / model of 3.2, and changed the remote part of the key fob with the donor car and everything has been fine since. The ecu was however the exact same part number and ident number. I looked at removing one from a Y reg 2000 year 2.6 CD in a breakers, but decided against it as it was a different part number and ident number to the faulty one in my car.
The point I'm getting to is should the OP be checking that the ECU from his friends car be the same part / ident number  as the original from his car? If not, will it cause issues?
And if it is likely to work ok, why then did Omegas have different models / types of central locking ECU's to what would appear to operate the identical functions?

A saloon module would allow for the third button on the fob, also, it's possible that different spec cars and model years have different levels of alarm... Plod cars, for example don't have interior sensors fitted even though they have the wiring.

That said, if the fob and CL ECU are matched from the same donor vehicle, then they should work but you might lose the ability to open the boot from the fob if you fit an estate module to a saloon.  How much of an issue that might be is subjective as both pre and post facelift cars have alternative ways to open the boot.

The only other significant item to consider is that early Prefacelift cars use a different remote system to 95.5 MY cars with a separate fob rather than the newer integrated type.

good morning to all, and thank you for the reply's.
so new update, courtesy lights are on(still need to go get a new central locking module), but have no timer. I've managed to find the haynes manual with the electrical diagrams. so managed to find the wires that i needed to jump.
about the cruise control, the stalk i have is with 2 wires plug. and i checked and i have the clutch switch, but didn't have the time to test it.
another thing i forgot to ask is, the airbag light is on, and i found the passenger pretensioner yellow tag to be a little out. not even half of it. could that be the reason for the air bag light? i did not yet connected to the car, my laptop has gone kaput.   
I've checked all the plugs under the seat, for the airbags and everything seems to be ok. the car has not been in an accident, but the previous owner told me that about a month and half ago they removed the passenger seat to repair the motor for the seat rise, and after that the light stayed on.

If the airbag wiring is unplugged without disconnecting the battery it can put the light on. Needs the fault code clearing and as long as the wiring is ok then should be sorted

As you have Haynes, the.diagrams will guide you to the wires to test for the clutch and brake switches. But don't forget to check the fuse as well and also the plug to the cruise control module (under the bonnet, and connected to the throttle cable mechanism) if your car has a cable throttle.

Then there isn't one, it's controlled by the engine ecu

So the only things you can check are the switches, stalk and wiring

Today i will test the switches, brake, clutch. and i want to test the stalk. far from i saw the TD stalk has a series of(i think) resistors, is any way i can test it?

Not sure how beyond trying a different stalk, and perhaps dismantling it and checking for obvious wear/damage.

But your first point of checking is the fuse

Closely followed by the clutch and brake switches...

still haven't got time to check all of those, work has been chaotic, i have checked the fuse( fuse 15 i believe) and itīs good, started to remove the plastic cover in the pedals, but have not yet checked the switches.  maybe today I'll have the time to do it.
also I've started to look for a "new" stalk, they are not easy to find here in Portugal. but i managed to find one with 2 wires( there's a lot of the 4 wire ones), if everything points to the stalk i will buy it. could not find brand new ones with only 2 wires...
