Advise please on LPG Tanks
« on: 16 October 2013, 16:24:47 »

Looking for a V8 Disco, I've spotted one I rather like. Its Lpg converted and was done in 2004 with safety cert. It comes with a full service history pack & the LPG has been serviced in the last month. The question I have is regarding the actual tanks - I know most are only certified for 10 years??? What happens then? Do they have to be replaced or inspected?

In theory, pressure tested or replaced, and not much difference in the price between those options. In practice, it'll be fine. ;)

Hmm! just wonder if the insurers would have the same point of view if I ever needed to claim. "Oh your gas tanks are outa date! Sorry claim invalidated!!!"

Guess that the tanks will be under the floor,  so worth checking both the tanks and the straps for off road damage :y
