Trust Pilot
« on: 05 November 2021, 14:56:54 »

Anyone have any knowledge of how it works please?  ???

For example, is it possible for a company to load it up with fake reviews?  :-\

Can I trust Trust Pilot?  ::)

Can I trust Trust Pilot::)

Absolutely not.

After losing money with the Wellesley I left review(s)

Wellesley complained and they were all removed.

Bent as a four quid note. :-X

The same applies to Checkatrade.

Leave a poor review and then the person/company who pays Checkatrade makes a complaint. The poor review is promptly removed.......leaving a gleaming display of 5 stars reviews from his friends and family.  :-\

I left a positive review for Regtransfers a couple of weeks ago on Trustpilot after they sold a private plate I had on certificate ,all sorted within four days and payment straight into my bank. They do have some negative comments ( very few) but they have responded to these. I have looked at comments before on Trustpilot when looking for various jobs to be done have always been satisfied.

Yes, I must say my experience is that what I find to be my experience with a company matches what the majority of reviews have been.

No, you cannot trust every review on Trust Pilot or anywhere else, but I have found Trust Pilot to be more trustworthy than some other sites. ;)

It's really quite simple.

All good reviews be they genuine or fake are left well alone.

All bad reviews will be removed if a complaint is made........meaning just a few 'mild criticism' will remain in order to give the appearance of neutral and balanced customer response.

Yes.

But because it wasn't your money that they took, you have no say in what is done with it. The business that you paid, and who gave money to the middleman has that.

All the trade associations that only require a fee to join are just as misleading.

I can never understand the 100% feedback given to dealers on Ebay. Locals to these dealers know that some are dodgy but it still shows as perfect sellers.

All online reviews should be rated with caution.  That goes for Trustpilot, Reevoo and the like, and even more so for the site specific ones like Amazon and Banggood.

NHBC is a classic example. Given my experience I would recommend never rely on buying a house with such ‘protection’. Insist on RIBA cover.

I could be wrong but is the NHBC supported and funded by the major house builders? :-X
